REPAIR POLICY

Repair Service Policy

This Repair Service Policy explains the procedures, responsibilities, and expectations that apply before, during, and after a repair service is performed. It is intended to help customers understand the repair process, including diagnostics, estimates, approvals, replacement parts, payments, warranties, and other important service-related information.

Effective Date: January 18, 2013

Last Updated: July 24, 2026

1. Service Evaluation and Diagnostics

Every repair begins with an evaluation to determine the condition of the device and identify the reported problem. Diagnostic procedures may include visual inspection, hardware testing, software analysis, functional testing, or other methods considered appropriate for the equipment being serviced. Because some issues cannot be confirmed until the device is examined, the initial description provided by the customer may differ from the actual cause of the problem. Additional defects, hidden damage, worn components, previous repair attempts, liquid exposure, malware, or other conditions may also be discovered during the diagnostic process. When these findings affect the recommended repair, expected turnaround time, or estimated cost, the customer will be informed before any additional work requiring approval is performed.

2. Estimates and Repair Authorization

After the evaluation is completed, an estimate may be provided based on the condition of the device, the work believed to be necessary, the parts required, and the information available at that time. No repair beyond the approved scope will be performed without authorization when additional charges or a significant change in the recommended service is involved. Approval may be given verbally, in writing, electronically, or through another reasonable method of communication. If further testing reveals hidden damage, additional failures, unavailable parts, compatibility concerns, or other conditions that affect the original estimate, the customer will be contacted before proceeding with work that changes the expected cost or repair plan. Declining a revised estimate may result in the device being returned in its current condition, subject to any applicable diagnostic, labor, or service charges that were disclosed in advance.

3. Parts and Replacement Components

Replacement parts may be new, refurbished, reconditioned, aftermarket, or previously used, depending on availability, compatibility, cost, and the customer’s approved repair option. Whenever possible, the type of part being installed will be identified before the repair is completed, especially when the choice may affect price, appearance, performance, or warranty coverage. Exact matches are not always available for older, discontinued, specialized, or manufacturer-restricted equipment, and a compatible alternative may be recommended when it is considered suitable for the intended use. Parts supplied by the customer may be installed at our discretion, but their condition, compatibility, reliability, and warranty remain the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing. Removed components may be discarded, recycled, retained for testing, or returned upon request when practical and when no manufacturer, supplier, exchange, or core-return requirement applies.

4. Repair Timeframes

Any turnaround time provided is an estimate based on the information available, the expected complexity of the repair, current workload, and the availability of required parts or materials. Some services may be completed quickly, while others may require extended testing, special-order components, manufacturer support, data recovery procedures, or additional time to confirm that the reported problem has been resolved. Delays may also occur when hidden damage, intermittent failures, compatibility issues, supplier backorders, shipping problems, or other conditions beyond reasonable control affect the repair process. Notice will be provided whenever a substantial delay changes the expected completion time, but no specific date or timeframe is guaranteed unless it has been expressly agreed to in writing.

5. Data Backup and Data Loss

Customers are responsible for backing up important files before submitting a computer, storage device, or other equipment for service whenever the device remains accessible enough to do so. Repair work may require software changes, operating system recovery, malware removal, storage replacement, formatting, factory restoration, or other procedures that can affect saved information. Even when a repair does not directly involve the storage system, existing hardware failure, corruption, encryption, liquid damage, power problems, or deterioration may result in partial or complete data loss during testing or normal operation. Reasonable care will be taken while handling customer equipment, but the preservation or recovery of files cannot be guaranteed unless a separate data recovery service has been specifically requested and accepted. Any especially important files or information should be identified before work begins so the available options and risks can be discussed in advance.

6. Customer Responsibilities

Anyone submitting equipment for service must have the legal authority to authorize service on any device they submit and should provide accurate information about the reported problem, previous repairs, known damage, liquid exposure, passwords, encryption, and any recent changes that may assist with diagnosis. Chargers, adapters, cables, recovery keys, accessories, or other items needed to reproduce the issue should be included when requested and clearly identified to avoid confusion. Devices protected by account locks, firmware passwords, security software, employer restrictions, or manufacturer controls may require additional access or authorization before testing can continue. Customers are also responsible for remaining reachable through the contact information provided, responding to estimate or repair questions within a reasonable period, and notifying us promptly if their telephone number, email address, pickup arrangements, or service instructions change while the equipment is in our possession.

7. Device Pickup and Storage

Once service has been completed, declined, or determined to be impractical, notice will be sent using the contact information provided and arrangements should be made to retrieve the equipment within the stated period. Storage charges may apply to devices left behind for an extended time when such charges have been disclosed in advance. If repeated attempts to make contact are unsuccessful and the equipment remains unclaimed beyond a reasonable holding period, it may be considered abandoned and handled in accordance with applicable law, including lawful disposal, recycling, or recovery of unpaid amounts. A receipt, claim ticket, identification, or written authorization may be required before release, particularly when someone other than the original person who submitted the device is collecting it.

8. Payment and Completed Repairs

Payment is due according to the amount and terms shown on the approved estimate, invoice, or service agreement and may be required before repaired equipment is released. Final charges can include diagnostic work, labor, replacement parts, materials, travel, special orders, or other approved services, and any unpaid balance must be resolved at the time of pickup unless another arrangement has been accepted in advance. Once the device is returned, it should be reviewed promptly to confirm that the approved work was completed and that the reported issue has been addressed under normal operating conditions. Questions concerning the repair or invoice should be reported as soon as possible, since delays may make it more difficult to determine whether a later problem is connected to the original service, normal wear, new damage, software changes, or another unrelated condition.

9. Warranty Information

Any warranty provided with a completed repair applies only to the specific work performed and the parts identified on the final invoice or service record. The length and terms of coverage may vary depending on the repair, the component installed, the supplier, and any manufacturer warranty that applies. Warranty service does not generally cover accidental damage, liquid exposure, power surges, misuse, new software problems, malware, unauthorized modifications, unrelated component failures, or damage caused after the device has been returned. A repaired item may need to be inspected before coverage can be confirmed, and proof of service may be required. When a covered issue is verified, the available remedy may include additional testing, correction of the original repair, replacement of the affected part, or another reasonable solution consistent with the applicable warranty terms.

10. Limitations of Service

Not every device or technical problem can be repaired, and acceptance of equipment for evaluation does not guarantee that service will be successful or economically practical. Work may be limited or declined when extensive physical damage, severe corrosion, missing components, prior modification, unavailable replacement parts, manufacturer restrictions, discontinued software, security locks, or the overall condition of the equipment prevents a reliable repair. Certain failures may also return after service when they are caused by aging components, intermittent faults, environmental conditions, incompatible accessories, or problems outside the approved scope of work. When a repair cannot be completed as expected, the available options may include returning the device in its current condition, recommending a different service, replacing additional components with approval, or advising that replacement of the equipment is more practical than further repair.

11. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised when service procedures, business practices, legal requirements, technology, or other operational circumstances change. The date shown at the beginning of the page will be updated whenever a new version is published, and the revised provisions will apply from that date unless a different effective date is stated. Repairs already authorized may continue under the terms provided at the time of approval, while future service requests will be governed by the version in effect when the equipment is submitted or the work is accepted. Reviewing this page before requesting service can help ensure that the current procedures and responsibilities are understood.

12. Contact Information
